Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Our 2015 Reserve Pinot Noir Santa Barbara offers an inviting blend of aromas, including raspberry, black cherry, bramble fruits, clove, baking spice and notes of vanilla and caramel. The flavors are tasty, with minerality and rich dark fruit with sumptuous and elegant tannins. 100% Pinot Noir
Vineyard Notes
Sourced from two vineyards within the Santa Maria Valley, Garey and Rancho Sisquoc. Garey Vineyard is situated on the cool, westerly end of Santa Maria Valley and is home to a myriad of pinot clones grafted onto low-vigor rootstocks. Rancho Sisquoc is situated at the base of the Transverse Range in the mouth of the valley, which creates unique micro-climates that produce a wide array of flavors within the varietal.
Winemaker Notes
All of the vineyard blocks were hand harvested separately in September, and delivered to the winery at 7:30 in the morning. Grapes were gently destemmed and delivered to open top tanks, allowed to cold soak and extract color for 3 days, then punched down twice per day, and pressed off after ten days on the skins. Only French oak barrels were used to age the Pinot Noir. The wine was then allowed to age until December when it was put in bottle.
Food Pairing Notes
Pair with Havarti, Brie or Gruyere cheeses, blackened chicken, pork loin or sweet potatoes.
